Mission and Motto
We Are One Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating free, sensory‑friendly, inclusive events for autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled community members of all ages in NEPA and the Philadelphia area—building an inclusive world, one smile at a time. Each event is a welcoming place for families and groups to feel comfortable, supported, and connected.
Our Story
Founded in October 2024 by parents who saw limited low‑pressure, accessible social options, We Are One began as a single inclusive gathering designed around comfort—adjusted sound, open movement, and communication flexibility. The immediate response confirmed the need: families stayed longer, participants explored at their own pace, and volunteers asked, “What’s next?” That momentum evolved into a growing calendar of free sensory‑friendly movie showings, adaptive recreation, and community connection activities across NEPA and Philadelphia plus so much more. We’ve kept the founding promise: intentional design, zero admission fees, and genuine belonging.
Who We Serve
Autistic, neurodivergent, and disabled individuals (children, teens, and adults), non‑speaking communicators (AAC, sign, gestures), people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, those with mobility or sensory processing differences, and their families, caregivers, support staff, and organized groups. Meet our son, Kobe
As the founders and parents of a remarkable young adult on the autism spectrum, we founded this organization to honor our son’s extraordinary journey. We understand the feelings of isolation when traditional extracurricular activities don’t cater to unique needs. We have seen his difficulties finding spaces where he could connect with others. We know that many individuals with special needs, just like our son, long for enjoyable, inclusive experiences. That’s why our foundation is dedicated to creating a compassionate and supportive community where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can come together and build memories that will last a lifetime.
